Waterfront Real Estate in Port Charlotte FL

An Analysis of Waterfront Real Estate in Port Charlotte FL

Does the idea of living on the beach excite you? Port Charlotte is home to numerous beaches such as Boca Grande, Port Charlotte Beach, Englewood Beach, among others. For many, there is a level of peace that comes just by living near the beach. Whether it is a vacation home or you are living there full time, purchasing a waterfront home may be a necessary change for your lifestyle.

From fresh air to magnificent views of the ocean – these are just a some of the factors to consider when choosing a waterfront house.

Types of Waterfront House Plans

  1. Vacation Homes

Some of the homes in Port Charlotte are explicitly designed for vacations. Such residences are usually secondary homes that serve for weekend getaways or fishing retreats and so much more. These homes are designed with elegant simplicity in mind. They are typically small and low maintenance and consist of a kitchen with a space-saving design, plus one to three bedrooms. A waterfront vacation home is a haven away from the hustle and noise of the city.

  1. Beach Houses

Most of the beach houses in Port Charlotte are one or two levels off the ground. They come with pier foundations that are specially made to withstand waves and tides and prevent flooding.  Their living rooms will always be one level off the ground and most of the time parking is usually below the house.  Beach houses will also often have outdoor space specifically designed for occupants to enjoy the beach scenery as well as feel the cool breeze outside.

  1. A-Shaped Houses

When it comes to A-shaped homes, one distinguishing factor from the rest is the roofing which is shaped like an ‘A.’ These homes, due to their design, always have tall windows.  Isn’t it exhilarating to see Englewood Beach from the comfort of your home? The tall windows offer quite a lot of scenery as you can easily see the surrounding landscape. A-shaped houses are often built along the shore.

Choices of a Waterfront House

Different waterfront homes come with different specifications. Some will come with a climate controlled garage as well as a seawall and boat lifts. Others have high impact walls that can withstand hurricane shutters, with spacious living rooms and a spa. Choose the specifications for your next waterfront home based on your unique needs.

Homes Directly On the Shore

Most waterfront real estate can be found just a few feet from the shore. These homes are perfect for someone who loves to wake up to the beach, enjoys water sports, or feeling connected to nature. Such houses are excellent though they have higher maintenance than the rest.

Homes In A Waterfront Neighborhood

Houses in a waterfront neighborhood range in size and style. These houses may be villas, condos or cottages within a neighborhood with the usual amenities such as tennis courts. What sells in these homes is their oceanic view. Their proximity is not as close as those on the shore but could work well for people or families who want to live close to the beach but don’t need to be right on the coast.  Plus there are plenty of things to do.
